Was in such a funk this morning, hence the previous post. Still accurate, but not quite as weighty at this moment in time.
Thank you to my peeps who came to my rescue today even if you had no idea you were sporting a life vest: 1 - with a question, 1 - I can always tell the uncomfortable truth, 1 - who inspires.
If we were together in the sun, I'd whip up an ice cold batch of something for ya'll.
Bored
Not sure why, but really bored. I'm one of those people that don't necessarily thrive on upheaval. I've always been what I like to term "a very stable" person. I've had the same cat for 17+ years; I've lived in the same house for 10 years; I've worked at the same company for 16+ years; I've had the same best friend for 16+ years; I've had the same car for 8 years; I've had the same family for 30+ years...(wow! could that be more boring! *yawn*). Are you getting my drift. I'm not complaining about these wonderful things in my life, I'm just looking for a little something to get me out of my *rutine (*misspelled purposefully*). The state I'm in though, Nothing sounds fun or enjoyable.
I understand that tons of change all the time isn't the healthiest thing, I just need a little change once in awhile.
"Change Things" has become my mini-motto. Imagination is the limitation. The only problem is when you've become as stagnant as I feel, imagination is a foreign word. I currently have no imagination.
This ennui worries me a little.
*sigh* Back to the same old grind.
I just reread this and I may be the most boring person ever.

Everyone's a Vixen ~ of some sort
It seems the Internets can tell you anything about yourself if you just answer a few simple questions.

Crash Test Dumb-Me
I love to ride my bike. I could ride it all the time. I said I like to ride my bike, I never said I was any good at it.
Yesterday, the first official day of Summer actually brought some sunshine with it. We haven't had much sun or warmth lately. Just a couple days ago, it was 45 degrees when I got up in the morning. Its June! But, I digress. I decided yesterday that I was fed up with not getting to ride my bike as often as I would like, mostly due to my fair-weathered nature about the whole thing. I decided I was going to ride my bike and took off from work a little early. I took my usual easy route just to get myself a little warmed up before the more strenuous rides that I take with Mr. (he is a very good rider). Did I say very good? Yes, he's been riding with clubs since he was in high school and in addition to that, he just naturally has the riding talent. I thought, well, I should really try to become a better rider, strenghthen my skills and work on some skills I don't really have down. One of those skills is - and maybe you've seen riders do this - when you come to a cross road or a light where stopping is necessary, instead of putting a foot on the ground, you just grab a post (or similar tall object) and stay upright with both feet on pedals. I said to myself, "Self, you can do this. Its not rocket science. If others can do this, so can you." Wrong!
Oy. So there I am at a, can I say VERY, busy intersection. I come up to the light post - only I'm going about 7 times as fast as I should be. Instead of aborting the mission and trying another time, I just keep going for it. I reach out for the light post and instead of gingerly grabbing it, gracefully sitting astride my human powered vehicle and calmly waiting for the light to change to my benefit, I make a creme sandwich of my body between the light post and my bike. I can't seem to get my feet 'unclicked' from my pedals and find myself teetering on the verge of falling over ~ into traffic by-the-way. So, I grab with both arms the light pole and hug for dear life. All the while, I am certain some of the many commuters who are laughing and snorting their caffeinated beverages through their noses at my folly will run me down or at the very least run into the car in front or beside them. Luckily, no crashes (other than mine) were recorded.
I just kept on riding, what else does a person do. I wasn't really hurt, just a scraped calf. Later I find that I have a wonderful bruise and several gear shaped and bloody scratches on my calf and my ribs actually hurt when I laid on my side last night.
Not really a big deal, just my version of June 21, 2006.

Honestly perplexed
Once in a great while I'll randomly check out other blogs. This has taken me to some interesting and strange and 'adults only' places. Let me tell you, not for the faint of heart. Today I came across a blog which typified, in my wanderings, those who don't believe in anything above them, i.e. God. I have my beliefs and right or wrong I try my best to let others have theirs. I've found however that quite often those who don't believe in much of anything above them ask for open mindedness.
"Let me live my life. Don't tell me anything about your thoughts on the subject unless they are very similar to mine because I don't want to hear about it. I want to live my own life with my own rules, I don't want to know about yours. Why can't we be open minded."
I am confused by this. "Let's be open minded. But I don't / won't listen to anything you have to say on the topic because I want to do it my own way without having to listen to anyone else's opinion" attitude.
Ok. That's fine. But tell me exactly how is that being open minded?

Next Adventure
I think this is my next adventure. I say "I think" when its really just a matter of me getting off my hind end and planning the trip. Moses will be going with Nick and me. So excited. Lake Powell / Glen Canyon. Will be great hiking, kayaking, swimming, maybe some biking and probably very little rest and relaxation. Vacations have become adventures in sporting activities.

its good, its bad... I think it just is
Why is it that a big cheesy pizza almost always sounds good? Even though I don't do dairy and actually eating the cheesiness would probably gross me out, it still sounds so good, especially if you top it with canadian bacon or pepperoni ~ and I also don't eat piggies as a general rule so there is yet another conundrum in the pizza sounding good problem. Oy. I've just never gotten over the idea that its good even though the reality of it is bad.
I started out writing this long post about a bunch of stuff and after I finished I realized I just needed to let it go. So, gonna try that. I am blessed with quite wonderful people in my life. I should focus on that. Its hard sometimes... ya know? Here goes. I'm just leaving this as a post about cheesy, warm, yummy pizza. Now go get some and enjoy it for me please.

Today
I read the blogs of people I don’t know. I am constantly in awe of the way other people write down exactly what they are feeling and experiencing and the reader feels it. These bloggers have a way of drawing the reader in and, even if the topic is pain, the reader feels comforted with the knowledge that they are not alone in this world, not alone in the reality that life can be painful, confusing and at times seemingly unbearable. I’m often strangely inspired by the words of complete strangers. I can get through my own personal trials because other people seem to be getting through theirs.
Well, that’s my take on it today.

Shiny Happy People, Right!
Am I the only semi-real person? How is it that knowledge of people just makes me unhappy? I feel like I live in a dream world where all the shiny happy people walk around telling me what they think I want to hear when all the while they are leading lives completely alternate to what they’ve blatantly led me to believe? I feel like its me. I know it isn’t but every time I try to just be one of the gals and feel like one of the gang, I get outside info that makes me realize I’m not and I ain’t gonna be any time soon. They won’t/don’t trust me with the real stuff and I really dislike that I usually find it out and they don’t know that I know. It really isn’t that much fun a lot of the time being middle management. No power to actually implement ideas and strategies and no camaraderie with those above (you know I just don’t make enough to buy all my clothes at Saks) and none with those below. You can’t be real friends and tell the whole truth to those who have the obligation to make the company run smoothly. I get both. I’m not a complete idiot. I am in the middle and very lonely there today. Has anyone really told me the truth?
You’d be surprised to know what I know and haven’t told. And won’t. Because I am real.

Have Camera, will photograph
My drive home yesterday in the great northwest. Most of us natives, love our little slice of paradise. Here's one example of why ~ Spring in the Rose City.
I may not be renowned for my photography but I like to take photos in search of that one elusive fantastic shot. Still searching...and having fun doing it.

Can't help myself
My sweetheart is so good to me. He's suggested we take many pictures of Mr. One due to his age and apparent state of decline. Of course I argued, "No, not pictures of my little orange buddy!" Ha! So, pictures abound. Lucky reader. Admit it, he's cute!
Mr. One
I'm leaving! I'll do it! I'm going now!
Resigned to the photo montage and yes, my feet are cute.

The tables have turned
I am so happy. My parents will be traveling and I will be worried about them. My mom left me a message last night that one of the couples they are traveling with will have a travel blog so family can keep up with them. Did I say I am so happy. They aren't the type to call and let's face it they're on vacation, they shouldn't be too expected to call, but I'll worry. Not so much now, I can keep tabs. Nice and whew. Its tough when you start to worry about parents, its seems unnatural but is, of course, the natural way of things.
Their first day of travel. Yuck! But I still wish I was with them.
Prayers for a safe, healthy, happy and prosperous journey.

Sanctuary
Summer is going to be here soon. We've seen glimpses so I've set up my little sanctuary. A place I can go for five minutes and feel a little more relaxed than when I sat down. My orange kitten basks in the sun nearby, the little brook meanders by, ducks and geese splash in the pond, the neighbor mows his lawn, I talk on the phone or read my book and be glad I have a sanctuary to go to during the Spring and Summer. I feel relaxed just thinking about it. xo
