Do you know this song? (Actually, see sidebar.) The version I really like the best is by The Commitments (love that movie). I've been searching for a song to walk into the ceremony to. A song that maybe symbolizes our feelings for each other. Unfortunately, neither of us are into sentimental songs. We don't have an "our song". We don't have a song that I hear and think of "us". Anyway, I've been searching for a song, something other than the 'brides walk' music. Its so not me. And, I keep coming back to this song. Why did it pop into my head? I don't know. Why does it feel like the right thing? I don't know. Is it even appropriate? I don't know. Does that matter? I don't know. Its supposed to be all about us and I am at a loss and just keep coming back to this. Do Right Woman, Do Right Man
Take her to heart -- And she'll love you forever -- And nobody can make her do wrong -- But take her for granted, leaving your love unshown -- Makes will power weak and temptation strong
A woman's only human -- This you should understand -- She's not just a plaything -- She's flesh and blood, just like her man -- And if you want a do right all day woman -- You've gotta be a do right all night man
Me, Me, Me and Me & Sister-in-law.
Can you imagine! I'm going to have "in-laws". I Love It.
Just when you think things may be ok, they aren't. And you know that they will be again, 'cause they have to be. I mean, they have to be. But, even though you know things 'will be' ok, it doesn't make the now, the unpleasant, uncomfortable, rather unbearable now any better. You still have to go through it. You still have to be in the now whether you want to be here or not. Promises of someday things will be ok, no matter how true they are, don't make now better. Well, maybe a little better. I mean if you know things will get better, cause they have to get better, you're more likely to work on the now than if you don't know things will be ok. If you didn't have an incling that things would be ok, then you'd just pack up your stuff and go on an extended vacation. You'd just do it. Why would you not? If you truly thought things weren't going to be better, why stay. It would be insanity to stay if you thought things would never get better, never return to bliss, or at the very least true happiness.
Difficult weekend. I'm sure its me, but, that fact doesn't make it any less difficult.

PS - Yes, that is my "Oy Vey" coffee mug. Reserved for special use only, large mug o' Joe w/Bailey's and Kahlua. Much needed this weekend.
Friday. Its been one of those weeks that seem to drag on and on and on ad infinitum. Stuff on the schedule for this weekend inre wedding planning: Shoes, undergarments, guest book, table linen decisions, working out on the elliptical and I may get my energy on and go run stairs at Mt. Tabor. I used to do that every weekend when I lived on the east side (15ish years ago, YIKES!) Ahhh, but I was pretty solid in those days [speaking of but(ts)]. So, in memory of those leaner days and the thought of putting on a wedding dress in 58 (but who's counting) days, I may get my sorry buttinsky over there and walk (most likely not run) a few stairs. I've also got to return ties, pick up the brides maid's dress and figure out how to ship it to her, start addressing invitations, go to my house and pick up a few more things to bring 'home', write some meaningful vows, find a song to "enter, stage rear and center", (ideas anyone on this item?) Ok, so on with the list, finish registering, call towncar guy, visit then choose a honeymoon suite, think a little bit about rehearsal dinner and, well, I'm sure there'll be more, but that's all I can deal with right now. In fact, its more than I'll be able to deal with in just one weekend. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
There's also the trying to find quality time to hang with Mister.
I hope your weekend(s) are wonderful and stress free and relaxing and happy and sunny.
Ahhh, normalcy
Ciao bellas!
Ok, now that I've gone on and on about the badness, given that the movie was made in 1968 by Stanley Kubrik, some of the cinematography or whatever you call it was pretty cool. Walking on walls and no gravity kind of stuff.
Still boring though.
The movie...Is it a chick flick? Maybe. Its hard for me to know sometimes. I'm not a chick flick sort of gal and at the same time, I sometimes find myself liking them whether I want to or not. I'm what I like to call mercurial about movies.
I liked this movie. Its predictable and you pretty much know where its going, but you still want to go through the motions to get there. I consider that a good thing. A peasant boy falls in love with a royal girl. The royals do all they can to separate the little sweethearts, but in the end win (they have all the money and power). Flash forward in time a few years and they meet again under difficult circumstances, of course. You know, the more I think about this movie, definitely a chick flick. Anyway, I don't want to say more because it would give too much away. Just know, a nice love story with some fun twists.
I am getting excited. Things are coming together.
