December 20, 2011

I'm now behind on my photo project by 7 days. With being sick for what feels like forever and holiday gatherings I've not made it a priority. There are times (maybe a lot of them) in my life when I have to let some things go for periods of time and my photography is usually the first victim. I'm not complaining because my life is too full of fun stuff to take photos, I think I'm just verbally (as it where) giving myself permission to accept it as actually ok. And, also, letting ya'll know where I've been. Who knows, maybe I'll get it all put together in the next few days.
Either way, have a very Merry Christmas if we don't chat in the mean time.

PTH - 10, 11 & 12

Quit pretending.... You and I both knew I'd fall behind. Its ok. You can tell me the truth. I can handle it. I have been for quite some time now and am better because of it.
So, in reverse order, just because that's the way they loaded up.
Day 12 - A Whole Lot of Happy: My favorite, favorite Christmas story character, the Bumble. It really is a Rocky story long before Mr. Stallone got involved. Ok, so I never really watched Rocky but I'm imagining the story of someone who is misunderstood, well actually he was well understood, he was just being who he was by nature and quite possibly judged maliciously, has a change of heart or an unforeseen circumstance and becomes the hero. No...? Not the Rocky story...? Ok. (& 131/365) Day 11 - Shaping Up: This prompt was difficult for me. In essence, find some thing some where that reminds you personally of some thing holiday-ish. Yeah, that wasn't working for me, so I just took a photo that I liked and posted it. There you go. (& 130/365) Day 10 - Twinkle, Twinkle: This prompt made me get set my camera on Manual and take a lot of photos trying out all manner of settings. So, while the photo isn't great, the experience really was. My fear of the Manual setting has diminished, if ever so slightly, and for now. (& 129/365)

PTH - Day 06 (& 125/365)

The Little Things
Its the little things that make a day or a holiday.

My Charlie Brown Christmas tree is finally (just barely) strong enough to hold some Christmas lights.

PTH - Day 05 (& 124/365)

The View from Here
At the end of my street (several blocks) is the Willamette River. This photo was taken around dusk yesterday. You most likely won't be able to see it, I didn't notice until I was processing the photo, but there is a bird laying on top of the middle post.

That's all.

PTH - What's a girl to do?

As per my usual, I'm behind in a project that is only 5 days old. I signed up for a photographic journey through the month of December. Each day I receive an email with a prompt for that day designed to take some of the stress out of this month and add some personal time and introspection. Well, that's my take on it. So, here you go.

Day 1 - Holding on to Gratitude:
Oh wait, that's right! I don't have a photo for that day. I'm doing my best to catch up on that one, but, the problem is, I suck at verbalizing / photographing that particular feeling - emotion. Its ok, I get it. I'm working on it and that's that.

Day 2 - Reframe the Season (& 121/365)
Seeing things in a new light, from a new angle, in a new way.

Day 3 - Love is all you Need (& 122/365)

Day 4 - You hold the key to your own happiness. (& 123/365)
Starting the holiday baking makes me happy.
