And Happy New Year

I've not seen much in the way of New Years resolutions, maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.
I'm not a resolution gal, but I do have some goals for 2008:
  1. See one good play
  2. Go to one live sporting event
  3. Go to one live concert
  4. Eat at one new restaurant - new to me that is
  5. Eat at one new restaurant - new to my fair city that is
  6. Try one new activity
  7. ...

That's all I have for now. Its probably enough for me to tackle.

Happy and safe travels to all and to all a wonderful tomorrow.

You asked for it

In no particular order Best man signing marriage license Maid of honor (best friend) and mom That's us leaving at the end Number one niece and husband in background. I love this photo. Table settings. Doesn't really do it justice. It turned out to be a beautiful day but it had rained and rained and rained for two days before. Many shoes were ruined this day. Anyway, I think the flowers were bright and festive and just gorgeous. .

And again

Wedding party. I like to think of it as intimate not small.
I know! I know! No pictures of children to be posted on the internet, especially girls. So here's my excuse list for doing it anyway: 1. The photo is so small you can hardly tell what they look like, right? 2. I wanted to. 3. So I may suck, but, there's only three people who read this blog anyway, seriously, three and I'm good with that. I guess you can let me know in the comments whether I've totally faux pas'd and should take these off. 4. Sucks to bad people!

Snow

It snowed on Christmas day here. It was rather nice to be all snuggled in and look out to huge white falling flakes of coldness.
We are expecting a winter storm here today. The local news characters have coined it "Ho Ho Snow". I hope to update this post with pictures, but the snow isn't supposed to arrive on the valley floor until after 9:00 AM.
Stay tuned for more action packed local weather...Or NOT... no snow.

Just Watched: The Poseiden Adventure

The original one with Ernest Borgnine and Gene Hackman.
Mister and I were watching The Simpsons and they were spoofing a capsized oceanliner on new years eve. My first thought was that it was the Andrea Doria. But, Mister didn't think that the Doria turned completely upside down, but just on her side. So, internet way and we discover it was the Poseidon. I immediately Netflixed it and hence we watched it this weekend with the family. There's a 2005 version and several other movies about this ocean liner which met with a terrible fate while crossing the Atlantic, but I like original versions of stuff.
So, this ocean liner gets hit with a gi-normous wave and capsizes. The movie tells the story of that small handful of people who survived. Its a thriller and a classic, I enjoyed it.

Honeymoon - Quick Synopsis

The weather pretty much sucked the first 9 days. Rain, flash flooding, power outages, you name it. The big island's annual rain fall averages 8 inches per year. One day while we were there, one part of the island got 10 inches in one hour. Not many pictures. It eventually did clear up and was wonderful.

ROUGH Diving! - Getting back on the boat after this dive, the boat lurched, I wracked my shins on the second rung and literally thought I'd broken both my legs. Luckily not so, but still have serious huge wounds from it. Hawaiian totem protecting an old leader, I think. Honeymooners..... ahhhhh Fishes in the deep (or shallow).
Second to last day, the weather was beautiful. We walked this beach Thursday and saw a trail. We are trail people, so took it. We ended up at the nude beach next door. Mostly 50+ hippies from the '70's and men. We then walked back. Friday we spent from about 1:30 in the afternoon until just before sunset laying on the beach here and snorkeling and having a wonderful time.
More to follow when I have more time.
PS - No! I don't have wedding pictures yet. Soon...soon!
